The synthetic liquid latex are fluid emulsions generally of white color. They can be applied by casting or stratification by brushing.

 

There are many formulations with different value of dry residue, then more or less concentrated.

 

The applications of liquid synthetic latexes are manifold such us realization of elastic molds and waterproofing membranes but the most common application of the synthetic liquid latex is as additive for cement.

 

The addition of the synthetic latex to the cement allow to modify characteristics of the mortar. For example it is possible to improve the elasticity of the mortar, get more elasticity and impact strength, higher precision in the smooth surface.

The percentage of use of synthetic latex in the cement change from type to type - from 5-10-15 up to 20-25 % depending on the results they intend to achieve.

It should be recognized that, since the synthetic latexes are emulsions in water, it is necessary to considered that the water to be added to the cement has to be slightly lower and must take into account the amount of water contained in the synthetic latex used as an additive for cement.
